Our People
"A
community of unlike
people.
All we have in common is
Christ" The congregation at
Grace Church is a mixed
bag.
As Parish Priest Father
David Wood says, we are
“a community of unlike
people, all we have in
common is Christ.”
A random survey of the
parish revealed
parishioners aged two to
80.
Countries of origin are
as many and varied as
the areas members work
in.
These include Wales, New
Zealand, South Africa,
Zimbabwe, Canada, the
Seychelles, Lebanon,
England (Yorkshire) and
Australia (Victoria).
Occupations, past and
present, include dental
nurse, chef, shop
assistant, hairdresser,
policeman, lawyer,
management consultant,
human resource manager,
university student,
faculty member, adult
trainer, teacher,
nurses, an accountant,
archivist- librarian and
a senior technical
officer.
There is an editor and
journalist, a farmer and
market gardener, a
quilter and creative
designer and a spiritual
director and former nun.
We also count among our
number a clinic founder,
a therapist, a forensic
psychologist, an author,
housewives and
grandmothers. |

There is a non-government community
welfare agency co-ordinator, a welfare
officer, an aged care community worker
and a carer for adult disabled.
We enjoy a range of hobbies, from
china-painting, quilting and dress
making to scrap booking, mosaics,
crocheting and knitting.
As sports fans, parishioners enjoy
sailing, cycling, canoeing, soccer
(especially Perth Glory), football
(Melbourne and Essendon), bush walking
and hiking, tennis, golf, lacrosse,
roller skating and swimming.
Dancing, yoga, pilates and tai-chi also
scored a mention.
Music favourites include choral singing,
blues, classic, meditation, Neil
Diamond, jazz and reggae.
